Bangladesh’s Biman Airlines launched the first scheduled flight between Myanmar and Bangladesh, according to the government-run Myanma Alinn daily.

The launching ceremony was held at Yangon International Airport, the busiest gateway to Myanmar, on December 9.

The airline had introduced the same flight schedule six years ago.

The Biman official said the new flight was arranged as the country has seen more tourists thanks to opening up of the country.

The airline saw the scheduled flight between Myanmar and Bangladesh six years ago a failure as the country saw relatively lesser tourist entry.

The airline will ply between Bangladesh and Myanmar on every Monday and Thursday with possibilities of further extension.

It was the first time that the airline resumed its service over the last six years.
